About Nowt On

Nowt On started in Kendal, out of a genuine frustration.

Too many times, I'd see a great gig, talk, workshop or community event on social media, only to realise it had already happened. The information was always there somewhere, just scattered across different pages, posters and social media platforms, or shared too late to be useful. It felt like there had to be a better way.

Nowt On is about bringing all of that together. One central place, built around a shared map, where what's happening locally is visible. Not just for visitors, but for the people who live here.

This isn't about building a big profit driven platform. It's about helping the place where I live by supporting the businesses and organisers who put the effort into making things happen. Being based in the North, I know how seasonal things can be, and how hard it can be to reach the right people at the right time. If we can help promote what's on more clearly, we can help make Kendal feel busier, more active, and more connected.

Most of all, Nowt On is a conversation. I'm keen to sit down and have a chat with local event organisers, hear what it's really like running events here, and see how this platform might genuinely help.
